Reduced Glutathione

Reduced Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of the amino acids L-cysteine, L-glycine, and L-glutamine. L-cysteine is the rate-limiting amino acid for the endogenous production of glutathione.
• Glutathione supports the body's antioxidant function and aids in the recycling of other antioxidants like vitamins C and E.
• High concentrations of glutathione are found in the lenses and corneas to protect them from oxidative damage.
• Glutathione is directly involved in the detoxification process through a phase II pathway called glutathione conjugation. This pathway involves the binding of reduced glutathione (GSH) to a variety of substances, including heavy metals, pesticides, nicotine, mycotoxins, alcohol, and prescription drugs such as acetaminophen and antibiotics.
• Beneficial for clients with chronic acetaminophen use as this can deplete the body of glutathione.
• Beneficial for elderly clients given the age-related decline in the production of glutathione-based antioxidant enzymes.
• Beneficial for clients with glutathione polymorphisms who may require specific support for this pathway and their respective detoxification and antioxidant systems.

Usage:
1 capsule 3 times daily with food or as directed by a healthcare professional.
